                                                                       After Construction

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has fulfilled his promise of completing Panada street, one of the 114 road projects earmarked for Isolo. The street is fully tarred with gutters and walk way. The Lagos State Governor is committed to alleviating the sufferings of those in the hinterland, stressing that his government would do all it can to reach the grassroots with developmental projects.

Residents of the area were happy and expressed their appreciation to the state government.

For Obe who operates a barbing salon on the “we cannot thank Governor Ambode enough. The road project has been successfully carried out and my street people are happy about it.”

Supporting Obe’s statement, Alhaji Rasaq, a fashion designer on Panada street, “I have lived here for the past 30 years and this street is noted for bad road and filth. But with what Governor Ambode has done, you can attest that the street is wearing a new look now.  We are begging the government to finish up the work on Lafenwa street so that our joy will be complete.”

Another resident, Madam Tope who owns a restaurant at the beginning of the street couldn’t stop singing and dancing when approached to comment on the road project. Hear her outburst, “we are very happy on the successful completion of this project. Initially we thought it was one of the promises of the government that will never see the light of the day.”

Recall that Isolo Voice in its April edition visited the site of the project and met with the site engineer, Engr Seyi Quadri who promised that the road project would be completed before the end of June. They actually lived up to their billing.

The road is yet to be handed over to the state government.
