The damaged building
The renovated building
DSP Timothy Adeola Falowo, the
Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ire Akari police station has been in the
news for some time now as a result of his miraculous escape from death when a
big tree in the premises of the station uprooted itself and fell on his office.
The incident which took place around 9am on Monday during a rainfall drew a lot
of sympathizers, who saw his escape as the act of God. They described him as a
wonderful man, who does not take undue advantage of anyone because of his
position as a senior police officer.
A man among the visitors at the station
painted the DPO as a man with the fear of God and said he is not surprised that
God kept him despite the havoc wrecked by the fallen tree. According to an eyewitness who said the whole
incident was just like a film show, admitted it was indeed an act of God that
DPO was alive. “I was at the counter when I saw the tree uprooted and landed on
the DPO’s office. I was so afraid that I did not know what to do immediately.”
Another eyewitness claimed that the
DPO was with some people in his office when the incident happened. “We
immediately rushed there hoping for the worst but got relieved when we found
out that they were unhurt.” One of the residents who identified himself as John
also confirmed the story. “Except for the valuables that were greatly damaged
beyond repairs, we are grateful to God that no life was lost.”
One of the early callers at the
station was Mr.Lanre Badmus, a famous businessman and philanthropist, who
viewed the incident as unfortunate but gave thanks to God for preserving the
life of the DPO. Mr.Lanre Badmus was also around to receive the Lagos State
Police Commissioner, Mr.Fatai Owoseni during his visit to the station to assess
the extent of damage and to commiserate with the DPO.
One beautiful thing about the whole
incident is the fulfillment of a wise saying that the burning down of the
king’s palace will add beauty to it. This is exactly what has happened to the
police station’s complex. The renovation of the DPO’s office is a beauty to
behold. It is a show of later day glory that will always be greater than the
former. Thanks be to God for this and the cooperation enjoyed by the DPO.
Effort to make the DPO comment officially on the incident was not possible.
Isolo Voice rejoices with DSP
Timothy Adeola Falowo, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ire Akari
police station and his team members for God’s preservation and a successful
completion of the renovation work at the station.
